Can I make my gingerbread latte dairy-free?

Many people need or prefer to drink dairy-free beverages. Whether you are entertaining others or treating yourself, knowing how to make the drink dairy-free can be helpful. The good news is that it is very easy to make this recipe dairy-free. Simply opt for your favorite plant-based milk and whipped cream. Swapping out cow's milk for plant-based milk is simple, and thankfully, there is an easy way to make a delicious dairy-free whipped cream.

To make dairy-free or vegan whipped cream, you only need a can of coconut cream, NOT coconut milk. Place the can into the coldest part of the refrigerator and leave it to chill overnight. Remove the can from the fridge after the can has chilled for at least 12 hours. Be careful not to shake it. Open it up and scoop the cream part out. Place the thick, creamy part into a bowl and leave the watery part in the can. Whip the solid, cold coconut cream with a hand electric or stand mixer until it resembles a nice thick whipped cream. If the consistency is thick, like cream cheese, add a tiny bit of the water from the can and combine. For fun, you can stir in a bit of vanilla and powdered sugar (to taste). Once the coconut whipping cream is complete, dollop a scoop on your gingerbread latte.
